TREVOR AND WYNNE BLACKBURN A Newsome couple are celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary. Trevor and Wynne Blackburn were married at Linthwaite Church on 6th February 1960. They met 5 years earlier at the wedding of Trevor's brother in Bradley. They emigrated to Sydney in 1966 but they missed the rolling hills of West Yorkshire too much and returned home in 1968. The couple spent 14 years at Crosland Moor before moving to Newsome where they have been for 37 years. Trevor worked as a Carding Engineer for all his working life and Wynne spent 26 happy years at Marks & Spencer. They have 2 children and 6 grandchildren. They love crown green bowling and Trevor still plays as a veteran for Lindley BC. Wynne was a member of the Brighouse Amateur Operatic & Dramatic Society and sang soprano in various Huddersfield choirs. They enjoy quizzes and crosswords. The couple are having an afternoon tea celebration at home surrounded by family and friends. Their loving son & daughter Andrew and Tracey and partners Jackie and Robin & all the grandchildren
