Kay Burris (Bradbury), 51, a native of Rugeley, Staffs. Passed away in her home in Amherst, New Hampshire (USA) early in the morning on Wednesday 2nd April. Karen married William Ross Burris in 1989 in Washington DC, where the couple met in 1987. She and Bill moved to Shanghai Chine immediately after their wedding and started their family who are now her surviving children - son, Jackson Leigh Burris and her twin daughters Chloe Bradbury Burris and Cecilia O'Connor Burris. Karen earned her B.S. Degree (with Honors) in Architecture at Sheffield University, England and subsequently her Masters Degree in Urban Design and Planning at Virginia Tech in the States. She was actively pursuing a second Master's Degree, in Management, at the Harvard Business School in Massachusetts. She possessed a deep appreciation and understanding for both the fine and decorative arts and was deeply knowledgeable of the international art trade. Kay and her family had travelled extensively globally before settling in New Hampshire in July 2000. Prior to returning to the States with her family, Kay was Regional Coordinator for the Federation of Small Business, West Midlands and Staffordshire. Kay was born Karen Bradbury in Rugeley, Staffs in September 1956 the first daughter of Arthur John (Joe) and the late Margaret Leigh Bradbury of Armitage. In addition to her father, her two sisters, Annette Bradbury (Mrs. Stephen) Donnelly of Bowling Green, Ohio and Susan Bradbury (Mrs. Phillip) Swenson of Putnam, Connecticut, survive her. Kay was a source of strength and inspiration for her entire family and the most loyal of friends and confidants to those she cherished and loved. A memorial service and interment will be held on Monday, 25th August at 10.30 am at St. John the Baptist Church in Armitage, Staffs. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to St. John the Baptist Church to support is facilities.
