Christian James Ph.D. Graduation Christian James (33), formerly of Bryncoch, Neath, now residing in Philadelphia, USA graduated from the University of Surrey with his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in pharmacology on April 17th at Guildford Cathedral. Christian is the son of Elizabeth and the late Brian James, (both Severn Sisters). Christian performed his doctorial studies in the research laboratories of GlaxoSmithKline, King Of Prussia, Pennsylvania in a collaborative studentship with the University of Surrey, UK. His research explored novel mechanisms governing blood vessel narrowing and permeability. Chris hopes his findings will contribute to a better understanding of basic vascular biology and the potential development of novel therapeutics to treat vascular disorders. Christian intends to also publish his findings in a peer-reviewed pharmacological journal.
