STEW (Evelyn Florence). - Wife of the late Tom Stew, passed away on April 16, 2008, aged 90 at Moat House Retirement Home, Burbage. Roy, Terry, Jane and all the family would like to say a big thank you to everyone who attended the service held at Nuneaton Crematorium in celebration of Ev's life. Born in Coventry, Ev and Tom moved to Hinckley in 1958, as publicans of The Hollybush Inn, moving to The Wharf Inn in 1970. Following retirement, they enjoyed life at Jefferies Close, amongst fabulous neighbours and friends and spent many happy hours with their bowls pals at the Sweet Pea Bowls Club. The family have been truly comforted by the kindness and support received and we will treasure the fond memories shared with us by Ev's friends. We would like to thank everyone who sent such touching cards and beautiful floral tributes and to those who have made donations to the British Heart Foundation. We are grateful to the Rev David Jennings for conducting a thoughtful service, to Lesley and the staff at McCartneys for their help and understanding, and to the Sweet Pea Bowlers, who did Ev proud on the day. Our sincere thanks also to the dedicated staff and lovely people at Moat House for making Ev's stay so homely and enjoyable. A warm and caring lady, with a zest for life and full of fun, Ev was a loving and much loved lady who will be deeply missed by family and friends. Mum - Remembered with a smile .. and in our hearts forever xxx.
